A big thanks to everyone!

Two days later and we are still reading through comments, blogs and excited tweets from BookCampTO. We’re all happily exhausted here at the CanBPA, and so thankful to everyone for the hard work, insight, and camaraderie that made this a successful event.

To our volunteers: Erin Galle, Laura Godfrey, Sarah Farrukh, Courtney Hardwick, Alex Guselle, Paul Fowler, Jessica Todd, Stephanie Siu, Anita Siraki, Emma Minsky, Ashley Hisson, Sharlene Hopwood, Camilia Kahrizi, Jacqueline Suchoszek – Thank you so much for helping make the day run smoothly.

To all the panelists – thank you for stepping up to the plate and getting the conversational balls rolling. Discussions went well into the night. We are grateful to have been able to call on such a wealth of  talent and generosity of mind.

And to all of you who came, saw, and participated, thank you as well. I’ve heard a few times that “sessions started here [typical  sentiment] but then went here [new direction]“. That is what BookCamp is all about. We hope you all took a few great ideas back your offices this week.

We’re already looking ahead to next year, taking note of suggestions and criticisms. For instance – is there a place for hands-on training at an unconference? Both the social media discussion and the typography session resulted in offers for hands-on learning. It’s definitely something to think on. Do you have other suggestions for us for next year?

I really enjoyed the event! I would love to see more hands on tutorials especially during the session on blogging. I would love to learn more ways to make my blog more interactive. Thanks for the great day. Looking forward to next year.
